Who We Serve

Our program was established to serve those for whom traditional day programs have not worked, and who require more flexible, personal care.

We support adults with a wide range of abilities and challenges. This includes developmental impairments and adaptive functioning deficits, as assessed by the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center.

At this time, we are not equipped to serve individuals who require 24-hour nursing care, nor those who have been deemed a danger to themselves or those physically near them.

We work through the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center. New clients should be referred by an ELARC service coordinator.

Our Design

ADAMS Enrichment Program is designed to build essential skills for independent living and active participation in the community. Individual Service Plans are created based on clients’ interests, goals and abilities, and may include several different areas of focus.

  • Honing essential skills for everyday life, including personal hygiene, grooming and eating habits

  • Community integration is a core tenet of ADAMS Enrichment. Clients will actively participate in community engagement activities and events to promote inclusivity and independence

  • Developing basic computer skills to enhance digital literacy and communication

  • Understanding the different forms of money, setting a budget, tracking expenses & planning for emergencies

  • Education about nutrition, exercise and healthy living habits to improve overall wellbeing

  • Job exploration, employment skills training and vocational preparation for those interested in pursuing employment

  • Engaging in activities that support physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and are of interest to the clients (e.g. arts and crafts, drama, dance and moment, yoga and meditation, animals, games, sports, etc.)

  • Empowering clients to make informed decisions and express their needs, preferences and goals with confidence

  • Utilizing role playing, interactive activities and community outing to develop social skills and foster meaningful relationships
